At this point we close our visit.
Once we cross the imposing green door of the old Cathedral, we will find the commercial area, the water mirror, the Memories of Salt Monument and the Convention Center of the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá, a stage for Education and Culture in the depths of the earth. It is located in an old exploitation chamber, which is 10 meters wide, 16 meters high and 80 meters long.

Towards the center of the path, to your right, we find the mirror of water that attracts all tourists for its charm. It measures 80 square meters and 10 cm deep. We invite you to lean back on the railing, look down, and connect with the surface.

We discovered two optical phenomena: reflection and refraction of light that allows us to see a deep chamber before our eyes. At the end of the commercial area on the left side, you can connect with the Memories of Salt Monument, where the Zipaquieño artist Carlos Penagos exalts the Muisca by making offerings of salt, with the representation of local trees such as the oak and the bear’s hand, and Heart-headed owls that, according to the Muiscas, represent intelligence and knowledge. To their right, they find the design of a large spider that, according to the artist’s interpretation, represents patience and work.
