The Zipaquirá salt deposit covers an approximate area of one square kilometer and depths close to 800 meters and has been exploited to date at three levels: the first level called Guasá, which corresponds to the upper layer of the salt dome, the second level called Potosí and the third level, called Fabricalta, which is the lower level.
At the fifth station of the Via Crucis, “The Cyrene helps Jesus to carry the cross.” The Cross literally linked to the rock evokes the scene. Jesus, Simon of Cyrene and the Cross make up a single symbol of union and commitment, of support and solidarity.
