We arrive at the dome, one of the most beautiful places in the Cathedral, where the meeting of God and man on earth is represented. It has a diameter of 11 meters and the floor is made of marble. Seven miners intervened in this place. The lower part of the dome, rustic and imperfect, symbolizes the earthly.
In contrast, the upper part symbolizes the divine, the celestial and the spiritual.
It is in this upper part where we find stalactites, which are formed thanks to water seepage. The fresh water comes from the vegetal layer of the external part, passes through the rock and becomes salt water, which crystallizes drop by drop as it mixes with the atmosphere.
