We find ourselves at the second station with an architectural scheme of the mine called sinkholes, a product of the underground exploitation of 1978 that left 180 cavities like this as a result.
In the second station of the Via Crucis, “Jesus carries the cross on his back”. The cross that emerges from the rock itself and Jesus are one.
The rock is transformed into a Cross and simultaneously represents Jesus as a man and the Cross that he carries on his back. Through abstract art, each visitor is expected to make their own interpretation of the spiritual content and meaning during the route of the cross.
