In the third station of the Via Crucis, “Jesus falls under the weight of the cross.” Going down the stairs we see the representation of the first fall of Jesus that is symbolized through the fracture of the floor, under the weight of the cross.
Let us observe the sign of the crack, repeatedly present in the Cathedral with different symbolisms, it evokes in this particular case, as in the seventh and ninth stations, the dramatic events of the falls of Jesus on the route of the Via Dolorosa.
The cross that is Christ himself, stands upright, to signify the strength and strength with which we have to face and overcome those situations of overwhelm, collapse and drama that are presented to us in life.
Note: Let’s continue to the fourth station located on the left side.
